Kyoto Sanga has unveiled its 2026 PUMA home kit, a special edition designed exclusively for the J1 Centennial Vision League season that marks 100 years since the establishment of Japanese professional football.

The kit represents a collaboration between the club, kit manufacturer PUMA, and top sponsor Nintendo Corporation, featuring design elements inspired by Nintendo’s popular game Pikmin. This marks a significant departure from standard kit releases, as the uniform has been created specifically for the milestone season celebrating the J-League’s centennial.

The Kyoto Sanga 2026 PUMA home kit’s design centers on a purple camouflage pattern that incorporates varying shades of the club’s signature color. According to the club, the decision to use purple as the main color reflects a “desire to return to the origins” during this historic season.

The different purple tones visible throughout the shirt represent the accumulation of Kyoto Sanga’s history, with the pattern creating a distinctive visual identity. The camouflage design includes silhouettes that reference the Pikmin characters, integrating the Nintendo partnership into the kit’s aesthetic foundation.

PUMA has incorporated “phoenix red” as an accent color on the side panels of the shirt, which the club states is meant to “express a powerful leap into the future.” The red accents provide contrast against the purple base and connect to the phoenix imagery associated with the club’s crest. The kit features black trim on the collar and sleeves, with the PUMA logo prominently displayed on the chest.
The Kyoto Sanga 2026 home jersey is paired with black shorts that feature red detailing and sponsor logos, along with black socks.
The 2026 kit arrives following Kyoto Sanga’s most successful J1 League campaign, as the team achieved its best-ever finish of third place in 2025.
