Reissue: Netherlands EURO 2004 Nike Home Kit

The Netherlands’ popular UEFA EURO 2004 home jersey has made a return as Nike releases a faithful recreation of the iconic orange kit that captivated fans nearly two decades ago. The reissued Total 90 jersey, showcasing the distinctive orange base that has become synonymous with Dutch football, brings back memories of one of the most visually striking periods in the Dutch national team’s uniform history.

The reissued Holland jersey faithfully reproduces the original 2004-2006 design features, including the distinctive white piping on the jersey’s front. The iconic white Nike swoosh appears on the right chest, while the KNVB (Royal Dutch Football Association) lion crest proudly sits on the mid-chest.

Current Netherlands and Liverpool FC captain Virgil van Dijk modeled the reissued kit for its reveal, bridging the gap between the current generation of Dutch stars and the legends who originally wore this jersey.

This particular Total 90 template represents a significant period in Nike’s football jersey design history, with its innovative mesh side panels for ventilation and the distinctive shaped lines that created a unique silhouette. The jersey’s original debut at UEFA EURO 2004 in Portugal marked the beginning of a two-year cycle where this design represented Dutch football on the international stage.

During its original 2004-2006 run, this Netherland Total 90-based jersey was worn by an impressive generation of Dutch talent including defensive stalwart Jaap Stam, midfield generals Phillip Cocu and Edgar Davids, creative maestro Clarence Seedorf, and prolific striker Ruud van Nistelrooy. This collection of world-class players helped cement the jersey’s place in Netherlands football folklore despite the team’s semifinal exit at EURO 2004.
