Reigning MLS Cup champions, Columbus Crew, have unveiled their brand-new primary jersey for the 2024 and 2025 Major League Soccer seasons. Dubbed “The Home Kit” by The Crew and adidas, this striking shirt takes inspiration from the bold, angular architecture of the club’s Fortress, Lower.com Field, and the surrounding buildings in the burgeoning Astor Park neighborhood.
As the construction of the stadium and the ongoing expansion of Astor Park continue, Crew supporters and Columbus residents alike have been presented with a unique opportunity to unite and celebrate their city through soccer matches, major events, and a slew of additional activities downtown – a trend that is expected to intensify as the mixed-use development project progresses.
The neighborhood’s name, Astor Park, pays homage to the historic Astor House in New York City, where Thomas Cahill founded the United States Football Association in 1913, the precursor to the modern-day United States Soccer Federation.
Adding a touch of local pride, the back of the Columbus Crew 2024/25 adidas home kit features the outline of Ohio encapsulating the phrase “The Heart of American Soccer,” a nod to the countless iconic moments in the beautiful game that have taken place in Columbus, including hosting both the USA Men’s and Women’s national teams.
Furthermore, the new Crew jersey proudly displays the mantra “Todos Son Invitados” (Spanish for “Everyone Is Invited”) alongside the coordinates of Lower.com Field, reflecting the club’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
