Scotland 150th Anniversary adidas Kit

Published on

adidas UK and the Scottish Football Association have released a limited edition kit commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the federation.

In the classic dark blue and white of the national teams, the Scotland 150th Anniversary adidas shirt will make its debut when the men’s senior team faces Cyprus in a UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier on March 25th.

The Scottish senior women’s team will wear the jersey for their friendly against Costa Rica on April 11th. The kit will also be worn for Scotland’s 150th Anniversary Heritage friendly against England at Hampden Park on September 12th.

According to the Scottish FA the shirt is based on the first ‘uniform’ that Scotland players wore on November 30th, 1872 when they faced England in their first ever international friendly.

The Scotland 150th Anniversary adidas kit shows respect for the nation’s football legacy with a simple design. It has a round white collar and a woven crest on a dark blue background. The Lion Rampant is gold-colored on a matching crest, similar to how it looked on the early Scotland shirts.

The jersey’s sleeve cuffs have stripes that acknowledge Queen’s Park FC, who formed most of Scotland’s first national team back then.
