Japanese J1 League champions for four of the last six seasons Kawasaki Frontale have released their 2023 PUMA home and away kits.
The jerseys will be worn for the team’s domestic and AFC Champions League campaigns.
The jerseys introduce a new rounded neck design from PUMA Football in home light blue and away cream. Both features a black and white neckline and a series of diagonal lines on their fronts.
The lines are black on the primary shirt and in a slightly darker shade of cream than on the rest of the jersey on the alternate kit.
The stripes are inspired by those on Kawasaki Frontale’s first ever kit from when the club was founded in 1997. The diagonal effect is based on the design of Frontale’s 2004 away shirt that was worn when the team won J2 to be promoted to J1.
Seven stripes are used to represent the seven wards that make up the city of Kawasaki and Frontale’s roots.
Kawasaki Frontale kick off their 2023 J1 season against defending champions Yokohama F. Marinos on February 17th.
