England Rugby technical partner Umbro has released the home and away kits that will be worn by the association’s men’s and women’s national teams during the 2022/23 season.
According to Umbro:
The Red Roses squad will once again wear a bespoke kit, continuing Umbro’s commitment to champion the women’s game.
Detailing of the St. George’s cross, inspired by architectural lines from Twickenham Stadium, features around the collar and shoulder area of the Red Roses home shirt, which complements and connects the design at the base of the men’s home shirt.
The Red Roses’ alternate shirt is replicated in a rich red, while the men’s black alternate shirt displays a light stripe design, with red finishes on the sleeve.
Scott Watson, Head of Sports Marketing, Umbro UK, commented: “The new England Rugby kits for the women’s and men’s teams are the next stage of our exciting partnership with England Rugby. We have set out to produce a kit that players and fans can wear with pride. We wanted to develop a new look to the iconic white shirt connecting the two teams while celebrating their unique identity. In both cases, performance has been the foundation of the kit Umbro has produced.”
Since 1924, Umbro has developed performance kit for elite teams and athletes. The latest installment of the England Rugby range is the product of all this experience, ensuring both the men’s and women’s teams will have kit that is ready for rugby when it’s time to perform.
Claudio Borges, Director of Engagement and Business Growth, RFU, commented: “It’s exciting to see the new kits launch today. Putting on an England shirt is a huge source of pride for our players, and fans will have their first chance to see the new Umbro kit in action during the Red Roses fixture against the USA on 3 September.”
