Manchester United Football Club revealed their 2022/23 adidas home kit on Friday.
The jersey celebrates the club’s history of collared shirts by bringing back a classic polo collar look last seen in Manchester United 2014/15 away kit.
The collar on the 22/23 Red Devils primary kit is white with a series of red and black triangular patterns. It leads to a single-buttoned placket on the chest.
The throwback vibe of the jersey continues via the addition of tonal pinstripes in the fabric of the shirt and a shield Manchester United crest. Black adidas Three Stripes run along the shoulders.
The Manchester United 2022/23 adidas home shirt will be worn with white shorts and either black or white socks. The English Premier League giants will debut their new strip in a pre-season friendly against arch-rivals Liverpool in Thailand on July 12.
Inigo Turner, Design Director at adidas commented: “The polo collar is synonymous with Manchester United. Turned up or folded down, it has played a starring role in many of the club’s biggest moments.
“With such a rich history, we wanted to pay homage to some of the club’s most legendary kits and players, whilst capturing the essence of home brought into the present day with a new perspective on the strong visual identity and patterns that run through the DNA of the club.”
