Athletic Club 2022/23 New Balance Away Kit

Athletic Club presented its New Balance 2023/23 away kit for the team’s upcoming Spanish LaLiga and Copa del Rey seasons.

Athletic Club say that the magnet gray shirt is inspired by the strength of Los Leones (The Lions). Hence the graphic red and black lion print across the front of the kit.

The Athletic Club 22/23 alternate jersey uses a new rounded neck design from New Balance Football. Silver trim accentuates the collar while the Basque Country flag, the Ikurriña is printed on the nape. The shirt’s sleeves and back are black.

Athletic Club center-back Iñigo Martínez insisted he would “wear the strip with pride”, saying the kit represents the entire Athletic family.

Martínez said: “I really like the new design because it shows what it means to be part of the Athletic Club family. It’s hard to put into words what it means to play for this team, but I’ll wear this new shirt with pride next season, as will the rest of the team.”

Kenny McCallum, General Manager of New Balance Football, commented on the nature of Athletic’s support impact on the jersey’s design.

“The incredible spirit that drives Athletic Club was the inspiration for this year’s away shirt,” he added.

“New Balance has created a fierce design that matches that energy and spirit of this unique club. We can’t wait to see the squad wearing it next season.”
