FC Barcelona today revealed its Nike home kit for the Spanish 2022/23 LaLiga, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Champions League seasons.
The Barca 22/23 primary jersey was revealed using the theme “The Flame Lives On”. It celebrates the thirtieth anniversary of the 1992 Summer Olympic Games hosted by the city of Barcelona.
The latest FC Barcelona home shirt is the first to feature the logo of new sponsor Spotify on its front. That of UNHCR, The UN Refugee Agency, is placed below the player number printings on the back.
The Barcelona 2022/23 home kit adds two dark blue vertical stripes to the club’s iconic royal blue and red stripes. The colors of the Catalan flag are placed on its nape. A navy blue block is used for the upper chest, shoulders and sleeve in a first for the former European champion.
FCB says, “The design of home strip evokes the new light introduced to the city of Barcelona with the creation of new spaces and most especially new connections to the sea, an idea that is represented by the different coloured stripes on the shirt, where red alternates with two different shades of blue, one navy and the other lighter. The same navy blue also features on the collar, sleeves, shorts, and socks.”
