Arsenal Football Club wore its newly launched Transport for London adidas kit during the warm-up for Thursday’s EFL Cup semi-final with Liverpool.
The colorful shirt was created in a collaboration with the body responsible for public transportation throughout the city of London. It celebrates the Arsenal tube station located close to the club’s ground of over ninety years, Highbury Stadium. The station remains the only one to carry the name of a football team.
The pattern on the jersey is a recreation of the seat pattern used for the Piccadilly Line trains that stop at Arsenal station.
The Arsenal x Transport for London 2022 jersey is made with 100% recycled materials as adidas continues its effort to reduce its used of plastic in its products.
