The Scottish Rugby Union and technical sponsor Macron have released the 2021/22 home and away kits for the Scotland men’s and women’s national teams.
According to Macron:
The new home kit which will be worn by both the men’s and women’s teams sports the traditional navy blue colour. The jersey has a crew neck with blue and purple detailing, colours that reference the Scottish Saltire flag and the national thistle emblem. The sleeves are trimmed with the same colour combination. The backneck is personalised with a navy blue label embellished with the thistle motif that characterises the home kit, along with the motto #AsOne. The sweatband on the inside collar is personalised with SCOTLAND in a repeat pattern, punctuated by the SRU logo. The Macron Hero is embroidered in white on the right breast, with the Scottish Rugby Union crest on the left. The outside back collar, meanwhile, is embroidered with the Scottish Saltire flag.
The new home kit’s most emblematic detail features on the lower front, sides and lower back of the shirt. It consists of a thistle motif, a national symbol of Scotland and of Scottish Rugby Union, which is tone-on-tone embossed.
The away strip remains white as in the previous season. It also has a crew neck with blue and purple detailing, a personalised backneck and a sweatband strip with SCOTLAND in a repeat pattern. The outside back collar is embroidered with the Saltire, the national flag of Scotland. The Macron Hero and the Scottish Rugby Union logo are embroidered in navy blue on the chest. The design follows the lead of the home kit, with the embossed thistle motif characterising the lower part of the jersey.
The home and alternate match kits for the Scotland 7’s were also unveiled. The home jersey is navy blue with sea green and white detailing whilst the alternate jersey reverses this colour combination. The front of the both jerseys feature a tonal design of the leaves of the Scottish Rugby thistle . The Macron Hero logo is positioned on the right breast with the Scotland Sevens crest on the left on both match shirts.
