La Federación Costarricense de Fútbol (FEDEFUTBOL) has released the home and away jerseys that will be worn by the Costa Rica national soccer team during their FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 campaign.
The kits are provided by the federation’s technical sponsor New Balance Football. They are inspired by memorable kits worn by Costa Rica at the FIFA World Cup during their five appearances at the tournament between 1990 and 2018.
The red Costa Rica 2021/22 New Balance home jersey features a blue and white paint effect on its chest similar to that on La Sele’s 2006 World Cup shirt.
Costa Rica’s 21/22 away kit puts a modern look on the iconic black and white striped jersey worn when the team made it to the Round of 16 at Italia 1990.
Both jerseys use a classic v-neck design from New Balance with “COSTA RICA” printed in gold on their signoff area and rear waistline tags with “PURA VIDA” (PURA VIDA) on them.
Costa Rica will debut the new kits over the course of the next week and a half during World Cup qualifiers against Panama, Mexico and Jamaica.
