Football Association of Ireland (FAI) technical sponsor Umbro has released special edition outfield player and goalkeeper kits commemorating the federation’s one hundredth anniversary.
The Republic of Ireland Umbro centenary outfield player shirt is a modern interpretation of the dark blue kit worn by the Irish Free State team in its first international in May 1924. The year of the FAI’s founding, 1921, is embroidered in gold on the jersey’s nape.
The crest on the shirt is the white shirt with a green shamrock used by the Republic of Ireland’s national teams in the early twentieth century.
The Republic of Ireland 2021 goalkeeper centenary jersey is a yellow affair that uses the same Umbro design as the outfield player shirt.
