Five-time German Bundesliga champions VfB Stuttgart released their 2021/22 Jako home kit on Thursday.
The red chest ring on a jersey’s white background is a narrower for the 2021/22 season than last term. The Mercedes star protrudes over the upper edge of the chest ring for a look reminiscent of class VfB shirts from the 80s and 90s.
The black accents above and below the chest ring are a commitment to the home and history of VfB Stuttgart. They are optically extended onto the sleeve cuffs and are intended to be emulate the banners of the Württemberg coat of arms from the early 19th century. “Furchtlos und treu” (fearless and loyal) is printed on the inside rear collar with VfB on the outside.
Tobias Röschl, Head of Marketing and Sales at JAKO, commented: “Together with VfB Stuttgart, we developed a design that combines elements from the traditional and the modern. The similarity of the graphic details to the Württemberg coat of arms illustrates our ties to our homeland. At the same time, by producing the jerseys from recycled material, we are once again setting an example for resource conservation and sustainability. “
VfB CEO Thomas Hitzlsperger added: “With its dynamic design, our new home jersey fits perfectly with our young and aggressively oriented team. The first-class cooperation with Mercedes-Benz Bank and JAKO forms the basis for such high-quality and traditional jerseys. We are really looking forward to the first game in our new outfits and hope that many fans will be there live in the Mercedes-Benz Arena.”
