La Blanquirroja (The White and Red) are also expected to don the new jerseys for the rest of their FIFA World Cup 2022 qualification run over the next year.
The Peru 2021/22 home shirt is in the team’s famed white base with red sashes running across the front and back. The away kit is mainly blue with sashes in a lighter shade of the color than the rest of the jersey. Red trims the collar. Both kits use a new two-buttoned Henley collared design from Marathon Sports.
The highlight of both jerseys are series of multiple colors at the bottoms of the sashes, sleeve cuffs and waistline openings. They are inspired by the vibrant colors of Peruvian Lliclla garments that date back to the Incan Empire. Marathon says that the colors also represent the cultural, natural and historical heritage of the South American country.
Copa Améerica finalists in 2019, Peru is pooled with Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela in Group A of this year’s competition.
