German Bundesliga champion FC Bayern München has released its adidas 2021/22 away kit.
The black and gold jersey pays tribute to the city of Munich by using the Bavarian capitals colors. The city symbol of the Münchner Kindl (Munich Child) is printed on the nape of the jersey to reinforce Bayern’s connection with its hometown.
“Putting the Münchner Kindl on our jersey, on our shrine, makes it clear how close the bond with the city of Munich is,” said FCB executive board member Jörg Wacker at the launch of the new jersey, “FC Bayern and the city of Munich belong together. Munich is our home, at the same time we are also a cosmopolitan club, we want to convey Munich and FC Bayern to the outside world.”
The shirt uses a new crewneck design from adidas with the brand’s iconic three stripes stitched onto the shoulders. It is matched with black shorts and socks that are detailed with gold. It is available in an authentic version featuring adidas’s new HEAT.RDY fabric technology. Replica versions use the company’s AEROREADY fabric.
