The Deutscher Fußball-Bund (DFB) and technical sponsor adidas unveiled the Germany 2021/22 away kit on Tuesday.
The mainly black strip will be worn for the first time during Thursday FIFA World Cup 2020 qualifier against Iceland in Duisburg. It will also be used three days later by Die Mannschaft for another Qatar 2022 against Romania in Bucharest.
Jürgen Rank, Senior Design Director at adidas commented: “Eleven years after the last black DFB kit, we have gone one step further for the upcoming tournament.
Not only for our distinctive three stripes on the shoulders but also the four stars for winning the world championship are almost tone-in-tone and shimmer anthracite. The same applies to the adidas logo and the DFB crest with the federal eagle.
The only colored design element is the German flag, which is visible on the inside and outside of the collar and on the ends of the sleeves. Black pants and socks complete the high quality look. The flock with the name of the player and the number on the back and chest is applied in white.”
