Orlando City Soccer Club released its 2021 adidas home jersey on Friday evening. The well-supported Major League Soccer side calls the shirt its “Thick N Thin” kit.
According to Orlando City SC:
A representation of the transition to a new era, the new 2021 Thick N Thin kit celebrates the most loyal fans in Major League Soccer. The jersey is inspired by City’s unwavering and irreverent fanbase and the manner in which the Orlando community exemplifies resilience through thick and thin, ups and downs, rain or shine.
The Thick N Thin kit features dark and light shades of purple that separate the top and bottom halves of the jersey, referencing the old and the new, while the thick and thin lines mark transition and celebrate the unconditional loyalty of those who don it. Found on the back of the neck is the state of Florida flag, while the Jock Tag is home to the phrase “Through Thick & Thin”.
Once again prominently displayed across the front of the jersey is the Club’s presenting partner and Official Medical Team, Orlando Health. This season will mark the 11th-consecutive year of partnership, across seven MLS and four USL campaigns, that Orlando Health is featured on both the Orlando City home and away kits.
The kit was unveiled at the second edition of City Art Jam, presented by Orlando Health. During the event, a mural of team captain Luis Nani was painted live as part of the unveil, while eight local artists participated in a speed art competition, hosted by No Borders Art Competition, creating unique works of art that will be made available for auction with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Orlando City Foundation.
The Lions have begun preparations for their seventh MLS campaign, with preseason training underway at the Orlando City SC Training Ground at Osceola Heritage Park. With nearly six weeks to prepare, the 2021 MLS season is slated to kickoff the weekend of April 17.
