The only French Ligue 1 club to win the UEFA Champions League, Olympique de Marseille, has released a trio of ‘OM Africa’ by technical sponsor PUMA Football.
The lifestyle shirts are in the colors of Côte d’Ivoire, Morocco and Senegal on a rounded neck PUMA kit design. A circular ‘OM Africa’ patch is sewn onto the jerseys’ left sleeves.
Olympique Marseille says that its 2021 OM Africa shirts pay “tribute to the city’s multicultural identity and the club’s historic roots on the African continent.”
While the kits will not be worn in match action OM’s 2020/21 home shirt will feature the OM Africa patch on its chest for Saturday’s Ligue 1 meeting with Rennes.
Olympique Marseille has featured a host of star players from Africa over the last two decades. They include Didier Drogba, Titi Camara, Abedi Pele, André Ayew and Jordan Ayew.
