adidas Originals has released an Arsenal Football Club throwback collection celebrating the club’s ascendency during the early nineties. During this period The Gunners won the 1990/91 English First Division (now the Premier League) and and 1992/93 FA Cup and EFL League Cup under the guidance of manager George Graham.
The collection is highlighted by a reissue of the Arsenal adidas home kit that was worn by the likes of Ian Wright and Lee Dixon from 1990 to 1992. A retro-flavored track top, rain jacket, hoody and track pants are also in the range.
The Arsenal 1990/92 home jersey remake features the adidas Originals Trefoil logo and Gunner crest of the period. It has a 1990s ribbed overlapping v-neck with “AFC” printed in cursive font on the left side.
Shiny fabric used for the shirt to emulate the appearance of the original kit. Adidas has given the jersey a looser fit that today’s soccer jersey to maintain its 1990s vibe. It isn’t as oversized as the shirts of the time however.
