Popular French Ligue 1 club Olympique de Marseille have released their 2020/21 PUMA third kit. The new OM change strip will be worn for away matches (barring kit clashes) as the team meets the likes of Manchester City, FC Porto and Olympiacos in this season’s UEFA Champions League.
Olympique Marseille says that the new third shirt symbolizes their return to the biggest stage European football and is an opportunity to highlight the Marseille identity beyond French borders.
PUMA and OM have chosen to honor the art and music of Marseille via the jersey. Its emphasis is on Marseille’s hip hop scene that has become an institution and an emblem of Marseille culture through the ages.
The design of the 20/21 third jersey features circular waves shades of light blue emanating from the Olympique de Marseille crest. This pattern refers to the oscillations of sound in the air created by Marseille’s music.
Bright yellow adds further details to the kit and include stylized embroidery of “MARSEILLE” on the rear collar.
Light blue shorts and socks complete OM’s new European uniform.
