Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club debuted their 2020/21 Nike home kit during Sunday’s Premier League win over Burnley.
The new Seagulls primary jersey departs from their usual blue and white stripes for the first time since 1993. Instead the club from the south coast of England will don a blue shirt with white pinstripes as their first-choice kit next season.
The jersey uses Nike’s new polo collared Trophy IV design. It is matched with white short and blue socks to create a classic look reminiscent of the Albion strip worn from 1983 to 1985.
The uniform is remembered by the club’s fans as the one worn when Brighton & Hove Albion defeated eventual League and European champions Liverpool 2-0 at the Goldstone Ground in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Albion ambassador and club legend Bobby Zamora narrated the “Fine Margins” launch video for the kit. The former England strikes commented, “I love the new strip. I was surprised when I first saw it on the video shoot, but it looks absolutely stunning.
“I think the fans will love it and I’m really looking forward to watching the team playing in it and seeing the fans wear it. I just wish I was still pulling it on myself!”
