Copa do Brasil winners for the past two years and four-time Campeonato Brasileiro Série A champions have released their 2019 Umbro away kit.
Slated to be worn during Wednesday’s match against Patrocinense, the Cruzeiro 2019 away kit sticks with the club’s long use of white alternate jerseys.
Detailed in Cruzeiro’s new away shirt is detailed in their primary blue with accents that include a v-shape at the base of its front collar, Umbro branding and sponsor logos.
The stars of the Southern Cross are embossed on the front of the kit in recognition ofthe team’s change of name from Palestra Mineiro to Cruzeiro in 1943 (a name inspired by the astromincal body).
Palestra’s crest in stamped on the lower right fron of the jersey in honor of Cruzeiro’s origins. The year of Palestra’s founding in 1921 appears on the Umbro graphic at the upper back of the shirt along with Cruzeiro’s fox mascot and five stars.
Série A champions as recently as 2014, Cruzeiro finished last season on eight place in Brazil’s top division of soccer. They are managed by former Brazil national team boss Mano Menezes.
