Today New Balance has unveiled the new 2018/19 FC Porto home kit. The shirt is launched as part of the ‘Born For Success’ campaign, which marks the 125th anniversary in the club’s history and celebrates FC Porto winning the 2017/18 Primeira Liga title.
The kit has been engineered using innovative NB DRY technology. The jersey wicks moisture away from the skin to help keep players fresh and dry from first to final whistle. The 2018/19 home kit proudly showcases the iconic FC Porto Blue and White stripes which have been a traditional feature in FC Porto’s home kit since 1909. The jersey also features top shoulder bonded tape, full colour embroidered crest and a button shawl flat knit collar.
The FC Porto blue shorts complete the look, featuring a concealed stretch fabric insert which also runs down the side of the shirt. The socks feature an elasticated ankle zone and rib Achilles region with cushioned protection. An additional cushioned heel zone and vented cushioned footbed and toe section have been designed to help players play with power, comfort and extra support.
The goalkeeper kit has been engineered in line with the outfield players’ jerseys and is a Black with Frost Grey pattered sleeves and Black embroidered logo and full colour crest. The kit is completed with Black shorts and socks, with a Frost Grey cuff to the lower sock.
General Manager of New Balance Football, Kenny McCallum stated: “It’s been a fantastic season for FC Porto, and we’re delighted to celebrate this moment and an iconic anniversary year with this new home kit. This kit blends modern design and rich heritage which embodies FC Porto. It has been engineered to support the players to achieve great things on the pitch. We look forward to another exciting season with the club.”
Team captain Héctor Herrera said: “We’re very proud of the successes this season but we’re already looking ahead to next season and what we can achieve. The new home kit feels great and will allow us to concentrate on the game, which is most important. We can’t wait to see the supporters in blue and white when cheering the team on!”
