Middlesbrough Football Club released their 2017/18 adidas home kit using the hashtag #thebandisback on Saturday.
Well-received by the club’s fans, the new shirt uses Middlebrough’s traditional red with white detailing. The popular white chest band that was a fixture on the team’s primary jerseys in the 1970s, mid-1980s and mid-2000s makes are return after a four year absence.
The band combines with the kit’s high crewneck collar, classic ribbed sleeve cuffs and ribbed v-shaped upper chest insert to produce a classic look reminiscent of 1960s-70s football shirts. Mainly red shorts and white socks matched with the shirt in the Middlesbrough 17/18 home uniform.
Relegated from the Barclays Premier League after a one season run in the world’s most popular soccer league, Boro are among the favorites to earn promotion from the Football League Championship next season.
