The West Ham United FC 2017/18 away kit uses a new, modern crewneck design from Umbro. It is accented via light blue shoulder stripes that contain tonal Umbro diamonds. The WHUFC crest, Umbro logo and shirt sponsor logo on the front of the jersey are also sky blue.
Continuing a trend started last year, the Union Jack is once again included in West Ham’s kits. This time it is via a print featuring the top half of the UK’s national flag on the upper outside back of the shirt with “The Hammers” below it. West Ham’s primary color of claret is included through inside neckline taping and back of the neck piping.
Umbro Head of Marketing Jason Fairclough said: “The 2017/18 season sees the reintroduction of the famous running diamond to Umbro’s kits. First introduced in 1977, it was an iconic staple to Umbro kits for decades. Forty years after its first introduction the taping now returns as a visual statement.
“All Umbro kits are constructed with great fit and bold styling at the heart of their design. Elongated articulated panels provide freedom of movement, with stylised hem and Club-specific stitching details complementing the look.”
