Liverpool FC 2016/17 New Balance Third Kit

Liverpool Football Club unveiled their 2016/17 New Balance third kit via a live presentation from Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, CA on Thursday.

The Reds are currently training close by in Palo Alto ahead of their pre-season meeting with AC Milan at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco on Sunday.

Modeled by Liverpool FC players James Milner, Adam Lallana and Simon Mignolet, the new change kit is in a bright shade of yellow with a block of charcoal on its shoulder and sleeve areas. The club calls the combination “Toxic and Thunder”. It also has a series of tonal stripes on its front.

The shirt takes it inspiration from the colorful 2001 UEFA Cup Final match day programme. The meeting saw Liverpool defeat Spain’s Deportivo Alavés 5-4 in extra time for to claim their third UEFA title.

The famous Bill Shankly quote: “red for danger, red for power” appears on the the inner neck line of the jersey while “Liverpool Players must play like a Lion” from Gerard Houllier is printed on the inside of the back hem.

Liverpool vice-captain Milner said: “It’s definitely an eye-catching kit, and it will stand out on the pitch. It’s always a thrill to represent LFC and it’ll be exciting to wear these colours whilst we do that. The key thing for the players is that it’s comfortable and this kit is part of a great collection for next year.”

The Liverpool FC 2016/17 third kit will be available at World Soccer Shop, Subside Sports, Kitbag , Lovell Soccer and UK Soccer Shop along wit the Barclays Premier League team’s new home and away shirts.
