Slovenia 2016/17 Nike Home and Away Kits

The Football Association of Slovenia (Slovene: Nogometna zveza Slovenije or NZS) unveiled the Nike home and away kits that will be worn by all of Slovenia’s national teams during the 2016/17 international football calendar earlier this week.

The uniforms are in the home bright blue that the Slovenes took to the international stage at the 2002 and 2010 FIFA World Cup Finals. The team’s away strip uses two shades of green.

The Slovenia 16/17 kits uses a new Nike contemporary v-neck design that the Oregon-based firm has used for many national team jerseys during its recent spate of shirt releases.

An outline representing the Alps that make up a significant portion of Slovenia’s landscape runs along the upper chest of the kits. A wavy pattern of diamonds appears under the outline to complete the mountain effect on the shirts. Ventilated stripes run along the sides of the jerseys and their accompanying shorts.

Absentees from EURO 2016 after losing 3-1 on aggregate in the playoff round of qualification to Ukraine, Slovenia debuted their 2016/17 Nike home kit in a 1-0 win over Macedonia on Wednesday.
