AS Roma 2016 Chinese New Year Home Kit

AS Roma wore a special edition Chinese New year version of their 2015/16 Nike home kit during Sunday’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria at the Stadio Olimpico.

The one-off Giallorossi jersey features Chinese text in the shirt sponsor area that translates to “Golden monkey brings good fortune and happiness”. The greeting recognizes the fact that 2016 is the Chinese Year of the Monkey. The message was also displayed on LED displays inside the Roma’s stadium during the internationally televised Italian Serie A match.

New AS Roma signings Diego Perotti and Stephan El Shaarawy along with first teamersWojciech Szczęsny and midfielder Radja Nainggolan recorded a video in which they attempted to speak Chinese. The players wore AS Roma’s 2016 Chinese New Year home and away kits in the video.

AS Roma also displayed a Chinese New Year greeting on their home kit in 2015.
