An impressive roster of world football stars of the last two decades played in the first match of the 2015/16 Football Champions Tour on Friday night.
The likes of David Beckham, Luis Figo, Roberto Carlos, Caarlos Puyol and Dwight Yorke were part of an International All-Star XI that lost 4-2 to a Kuwait All-Star IX in what was the first match of the 60,000-seater Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.
The squad of now retired players wore a unique kit for the occasion. The jersey in question was a white version of the Nike Park V shirt. It was customized for each player who wore it with a vertical stripe on its front containing a stylized version of his national flag. The player name and numbering on the back was in gold. White shorts and socks completed the uniform.
The roster and next stop of the Football Champions Tour is to be announced.
