Bolton Wanderers 2015/16 Macron Commemorative Third Kit

Published on

Football League Championship side Bolton Wanderers Football club will wear a 2015/16 third kit commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Burnden Disaster.

Furnished by technical sponsor Macron, the limited edition jersey has the names of the 33 persons who perished in a human crush at Burnden Park football stadium on March 9th, 1946 printed on its fabric.

Bespoke for Bolton Wanderers, the shirt also has the date of the disaster, ’09-03-1946’, embroidered on the back of its collar, with the Lancashire red rose from the team’s crest appearing on the neckline.

Only 1,000 of the royal blue and navy blue hooped jerseys will be on sale. Each will come within a special commemorative presentation box that contains details about the Burnden Disaster. It will be unsponsored given the fact that it remembers one of the greatest tragedies in English football history.
