Nike Brasil has officially revealed the 2015/16 home and third kits for Campeonato Brasileiro Série A table toppers and title favorites Sport Club Corinthians Paulista. Both are expected to be available at Subside Sports and UK Soccer Shop.
The Corinthians 15/16 home jersey uses a white base with a black polo collar and shoulder area. Its sleeves are also black. The shirt is inspired by the primary kit worn by “Timão” (Great Team) when they won the inaugural FIFA World Club Cup in 2000. What was the first of the club’s two world titles (the other came in 2012) is celebrated by an inside neck print with the date and the time that Corinthians emerged as the victors of the eight team tournament.
The Corinthians 2015/16 Nike third kit is based on the fact that the club’s gutsy style of football was born on the terrão, the club’s early dust-covered pitch. In honor of its original ground, the Brazilian team welcomes a first-ever all-orange kit to its on-field wardrobe.
“Arena Corinthians is where I became a determined and self-confident player. I learned to fight for all balls, to get gritty,” says forward Malcom Filipe Silva de Oliveira. “It’s where I learned dirt is a symbol of strength and pride.”
“It takes guts and self-sacrifice to be part of the Corinthians. This kit is an acknowledgement of all the hard work our young players put in at the terrão to make us great,” says Marcelo Passos, Marketing Director for Corinthians.
The new Corinthians Paulista Nike third uniform was worn for the first time during Wednesday night’s league meeting with Fluminense at Arena Corinthians, in São Paulo.
