Reigning CONCACAF Champions League champions Club América have revealed their 2015/16 home and away jerseys from longtime technical partner Nike. Both are now on sale at World Soccer Shop.
The new Águilas kits were unveiled at a press conference in El Estadio Azteca in Mexico City on Wednesday with modeling from a number of Club América players.
The home uniform celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Club América’s first ever Primera División title by using the same shade of yellow as the kit worn by the team during the 1965-66 season. The jersey has a v-neck collar inspired by the América 1965/66 home shirt. The back part of the collar and the jersey’s sleeve cuffs feature the team’s secondary colors of red and blue. A pennant with a print of the Club América eagle appears on the inside rear neck area.
Club América’s away kit for their Apertura 2015 and Clausura 2016 seasons using the same Nike template as the home jersey. The team says that it celebrates the energy and exuberance of their famed youth academy – El Academia El Nido.
The body of the shirt has a lighter shade blue at the top and gradually becomes darker towards it waistline. The light blue lines represent the young players of the club while dark blue allude to the deep-rooted traditions of one of Liga MX’s most popular teams.
