Umbro has announced that Mix Diskerud, professional soccer player and midfielder for the New York City FC and United States National Team, appears in the iconic soccer brand’s latest marketing campaign. This marks the first stateside fashion campaign for Diskerud.

The creative for the summer campaign includes Diskerud sporting Umbro’s newest collection of hoodies, checkered shorts, underwear and the classic UX-1 cleat in a locker room setting as if he just stepped off the field. In another series of shots, the handsome athlete shows off a few of his impressive soccer tricks in the New York City studio.

“I’ve been trying a lot of different shoes through the years and for me Umbro fits my style of play and how I like to feel the ball,” said Diskerud. “I’ve been doing different tests with the Umbro cleats and we found a cleat that fits me perfectly so I’m very happy.”

Diskerud, who has been playing in the states for five years, is passionate about his sport and the role that he can play in getting as many people as possible involved in the states and all over the world. The athlete, who is known to surprise even his smallest fans, said “When I see kids playing soccer out on the streets or in the parks … I love that! Sometimes me and Khiry will stop by and play a little bit with them.”

Umbro is an iconic soccer apparel and footwear brand known globally for their performance gear and apparel.
