Genoa CFC 2015/16 Lotto Third Kit Celebrates Italy’s First Scudetto

Published on

The Genoa CFC 2015/16 Lotto third kit celebrates the fact that the club won Italy’s first Scudetto (national football championship) on May 8th, 1898.

The new jersey isn’t a replica of the cotton shirt worn by Genoa in the FIGC-endorsed four team knockout competition. Instead it celebrates Genoa CFC’s history via its colors and an inner neck area stamp listing the years of nine league titles that I Rossoblu (The Red-Blues) have won.

The Genoa CFC badge is replaced by a crest featuring the Cross of St. George in a nod to the team’s founding by English expatriates in 1893. “Primi campioni d’Italia” (Italy’s First Champion) is printed in Italic font below the crest.

The Genoa CFC 2015/16 Lotto third kit will be worn by the club in their Monday, May 11th Serie A meeting with Torino. The a win in the fixture will help Genoa secure a spot in next season’s UEFA Europa League.
