German and world football powerhouse FC Bayern München debuted their 2015/16 adidas home kit during Saturday’s Bavarian derby against FC Augsburg at the Allianz Arean in Munich.
A light blue 2015/16 Bayern Munich primary goalkeeper uniform to be worn by netminders Manuel Neuer and Tom Starke next season was included as part of the unveiled.
The Bayern München 2015/16 home uniform sees the twenty five time Bundesliga champions in an almost all red strip for the first time ever. The secondary Bayern colors of white and blue are mostly absent and replaced with a darker shade of red than the rest of the strip. The only white on the kit is its adidas branding, sponsor logo, player name and numbering and three of the Bavarian lozenges on its waist area.
Four golden embroidered diamonds appear above the FCB badge in recognition of the club’s over forty major championships. A stylized print of Bayern’s motto of “Mia San Mia” (“We Are Who We Are”) is printed on the outside upper back of the jersey.
Bayern Munich players and adidas athletes Xabi Alonso, Arjen Robben, Thomas Müller and Neuer modeeled the new kits for their online reveal.
