La Federación Colombiana de Futbol (FCF) and technical partner adidas have unveiled the new Colombia home kit. It will be the first choice shirt of Los Cafeteros (The Coffee Makers) at the 2015 Copa America tournament in Chile.
The Colombian women’s national team will also wear the new uniform at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup while the men’s Under-20 team will wear it at this year’s U-20 world cup. The jersey will be available for purchase at World Soccer Shop, Kitbag, UK Soccer Shop and Subside Sports.
The Colombia 2015/16 home jersey was modeled by several current national team players and adidas footballers for its online only launch. They included James Rodriguez (Real Madrid) and Juan Guillermo Cuadrado (Chelsea FC).
In the traditional yellow of the Colombian football team, the new shirt has a series of tonal bands on its chest. The FCF says that they are representative of the unity Colombia’s diverse people when they support their national team. This theme is also reflected in the text “UNIDOS POR UN PAIS” which is printed in the red, blue and yellow of the Colombian national flag on the upper back of the jersey.
Quarter-finalists at the 2014 World Cup, Colombia is currently ranked third in the world by FIFA and are among the favorites to win this year’s Copa America.
