Perennial Uruguayan Primera División championship contenders Club Nacional de Football have released their home and away kit for the 2014/15 domestic and Copa Libertadores season. Both carry distinctive retro feels and use new shirt designs from Umbro.
The Nacional 2014/15 Umbro home jersey is the club’s much-loved white with the red and blue of its badge accenting the collar and sleeves. It has a classic football shirt polo collar with an old school extended three button placket. The retro theme continues via the use of one of Nacional’s past crests on the kit’s pocket. A crest commemorating the team’s 21 international titles is printed on the inside of the pocket.
Nacional’s 14/15 away shirt is mainly red with a modern interpretation of an old-fashioned drawstring soccer jersey collar. It’s design is based on the very first kit worn by Nacional from its founding in 1899 until 1902. The kit made its competitive debut during Saturday’s 3-0 Primera win over Fénix at the Estadio Centenario. The win leaves Nacional seven points adrift at the top of the league table.
