Argentina’s Racing Club de Avellaneda have released a 2014/15 third kit from technical sponsor Topper.
The new shirt pays homage to the major titles that “La Academia” (The Academy) have won in their history by the use of twenty three stars around the club’s crest.
Golden stars are used in recognition of the team’s international triumphs – The 1913 Copa de Honor, 1917 and 1918 Copa Aldao, 1967 Copa Libertadores Intercontinental Cup and the 1988 Supercopa Sudamericana and Copa Interamericana. Platinum stars commemorate Racing’s 16 Argentine Primera División trophies.
The phrase “El Primer Grande” (The First Big Club) is printed on the inside neck area beneath the team’s name.
With former Argentina and Inter Milan striker now on their books, Racing Club are currently in seventh place in Argentina’s top-tier of football after ten matches played in the season. Their 2014 home and away kits were released last January.
