Currently just above the relegation zone of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A, Figueirense Futebol Clube have launched their 2014/15 third kit from Brazilian sportswear firm Penalty.
The largely white uniform takes its inspiration from the kit worn by Figueirense when they won the 1994 Campeonato Catarinense (Santa Catarina State Championship). Several members of the 1994 team (including Barbosa, Coutinho, goalkeepr Rogério, Sandro Petry, Ricardo, Sandro, Ventura and captain Solis) were on hand to model the new strip in recognition of this fact and in celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the title.
The Figueirense 2014/15 Penalty third shirt is virtually identically to the 1994 jersey thanks to its all white base and the use of the club’s green and black via diagonal bands on its right shoulder area. An embossed stamp recognizing the 1994 title appears around the club badge. Versions of the kit with “94” numbering were worn at the launch event and are available at the Figueirense club shops.
Figueirense released their Penalty 2014/15 home and away kits along with ranges of training and leisure gear in January of this year.
