Umbro unveiled the new Peru home and away kits for the 2014 into 2015 international football calendar in Lima on Monday. Both will be available at World Soccer Shop, UK Soccer Shop, Lovell Soccer, Pro:Direct Soccer, Subside Sports and Kitbag.
The new uniforms will make their on the field debuts when 2011 Copa America third placed finishers meet England and Switzerland on May 30 and June 3 respectively.
The Peru 2014 Umbro home jersey uses a new retro feel round neck design that includes a v-shape below the collar and onto the chest. The popular red sash of La Blanquirroja (The White and Red) runs across the shirt to give it a look reminiscent of some of the kits worn by the legendary Teofilo Cubillas and the Peruvian teams that qualified for three World Cups in the 1970s and 80s.
The Peru 2014 away shirt sees Umbro take a new spin on the kit design used for the Manchester City 2012/13 away jersey. A tonal red sash has been added to a kit which is identical in color to City’s final Umbro road shirt.
The Peru 2014 Umbro home and away jerseys both feature a stylized print of the work “PERU” on their upper outside backs.
Current Peruvian national team players Edison Flores (Universitario de Deportes) and Christian Ramos (Juan Aurich de Chiclayo) were on hand to model the new kits.
