Current English Premier League table-toppers Liverpool Football Club have launched their 2014/15 Warrior home kit at 6:00 PM BST today. It will be available at World Soccer Shop, Subside Sports and Kitbag.
According to kit provider Warrior: Under the management of Bill Shankly, Liverpool FC achieved the kind of dominance that very few clubs have ever experienced. Warrior’s new LFC campaign (#DEMAND) reflects the philosophy first installed by the LFC great, something which has been reinvigorated under the current manager, Brendan Rogers.
The kit tunes into the heart of LFC’s identity with the renowned red colour scheme, whilst incorporating modern style and construction. The striking bold block red is complemented on each side of the kit by sharp mirrored white piping, framing the design in a dynamic flowing motion.
Continuing to introduce new features, the Warrior team has included a geometric LFC jacquard weave; a unique detail which adds to the kit’s striking appearance. The collar is designed for freedom of movement and comfort and accented with white trim detail which is complemented by the white diminishing cuff detail edging the sleeves.
Brendan Rogers commented, “The 1960s was such a defining era for this club. Sir Roger Hunt, Ian St John, Ron Yeats …the list of Liverpool FC legends that played under Shankly goes on and on. For the players to wear a shirt that has taken inspiration from such a successful period for the club, can act as a reminder that they can bring those glory years back to Liverpool Football Club.”
In line with the 2013/14 version, two embroidered Eternal Flames alongside a 96 logo are located on the nape of the shirt’s neck to commemorate the events at Hillsborough in 1989.
The kits feature moisture-wicking War-Tech fabric which is responsive technology that helps keep players focused on nothing but performing. Four-way stretch mesh paneling under the arms and across the back of the shirt facilitates optimum ventilation while allowing for added comfort and temperature control in core heat areas.
Richard Wright, General Manager of Warrior Football said, “As in previous years, we’ve worked closely with the club throughout the design process of the new kit. It’s a great clean-cut, modern kit which has the club’s history at its core; an inherent quality across our LFC kit collection for the 2014/15 season.”
LFC’s captain Steven Gerrard said. ““I have a great sense of pride every time I pull on a Liverpool shirt. This shirt feels like a Liverpool classic and helps me remember the greats, like Roger Hunt, who played before us”.
