Seven-time Liga MX champions Pumas de la UNAM have launched a limited edition jersey from technical partner PUMA as part of their celebration of their 60th Anniversary.
Established as a professional team on August 28th, 1954, Pumas first became a Mexican Primera División (Premier Division) team in 1962. Since then the Mexico City-based team has featured a host of Mexican nationals including Jorge Campos, Hugo Sánchez and Alberto García Aspe.
The Pumas 60th Anniversary jersey uses a white base with dark blue accenting and features the team’s original crest. A drawstring, polo collar design that was popular for soccer jerseys of the mid-1950s is used for the shirt. Only 1954 boxed and individually numbered units of the latest Pumas kit will be available for sale.
Pumas de la UNAM launched their 2013/14 PUMA home and away jerseys last July. New uniforms are expected from the club this summer ahead of the kickoff of the Apertura 2014 season.
