Ponte Preta 1900 Retro Pulse Jersey

Published on

Ponte Preta will campaign in Brazil’s second tier of football, Série B, in 2014 following a two-year run in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A that ended in relegation last season.

The São Paulo club nicknamed Macaca by its fans is competing at the state level in the Campeonato Paulista 2014 until April. During last week’s meeting Linense, Ponte Preta debuted a special edition retro kit that is based on the design of the shirt that they wore during their inaugural season in 1900.

Provided by technical sponsor Pulse, the Ponte Preta 1900 retro shirt uses an old school drawstring collar. The Pulse logo and player numbering are in gold along with the text “1900” on the jersey’s upper back. The date of Ponte Preta’s founding “01.09.1900” is embroidered above the club crest.

Known for featuring Brazil national team players such as Luís Fabiano, Washington and Oscar during their history, Ponte Preta made it to the finals of the 2013 Copa Sudamericana.
