Last season’s UEFA Champions League, German Bundesliga and DFB Pokal winners FC Bayern Munich will wear a special edition charity version of their 2013/14 adidas home kit on March 15th.
According to a press release from the Der FCB website: Bayern Munich fans have a unique opportunity to have their name reproduced on a genuine treble winners’ shirt. Pep Guardiola’s team will wear a special shirt in support of Deutsche Sporthilfe (German Sports Aid) for the top of the table clash with Bayer Leverkusen on 15 March 2014 at the Allianz Arena. The shirts will bear the names of all the purchasers of the limited edition kit.These shirts are available now from the FC Bayern online shop. The shirts worn by the pros will be auctioned after the Bundesliga match.
Bayern are joining forces with partners Deutsche Telekom and adidas in supporting the Deutsche Sporthilfe foundation. All the profits from the sale of the limited edition shirts will be donated to Sporthilfe.The campaign was launched at the weekend at the ‘Sports Ball’ by Andreas Jung (Bayern Munich board member) and Thorsten Langheim (section head of Group Corporate Development at Deutsche Telekom). A seven square metre giant shirt signed by a large number of VIPs will publicise the campaign over the coming weeks.
Deutsche Sporthilfe supports talented youngsters and top athletes in 50 different sports across Germany who cannot make a living from their sport and who usually combine study, education and work with elite sport. Around 3,800 athletes are currently receiving support from Sporthilfe – over 46,000 have been helped since the foundation started in 1967. Sporthilfe has donated €385 million to date.
