Liga MX side Club de Fútbol Atlante opened their Clausura 2014 season with a 1-1 draw against León on Sunday at the Estadio Andrés Quintana Roo. During the match, the three-time league champions wore their newly launched 2014 home jersey (available soon at World Soccer Shop and Tienda Fútbol Mundial) from new technical sponsor Joma.
After just one year with Italy’s Kappa, the Cancún-based club switched to the Spanish sportswear firm during the offseason.
The Atlante FC 2014 Joma home kit was unveiled at the Zona Hotelera on Friday night along with new signings Manuel Viniegra, Gael Acosta, Guillermo Madrigal, Alonso Zamora, Jonathan Bornstein, Narciso Mina, Salustiano Candia and Omar Domínguez.
The new shirt is in the club’s traditional blue and red stripes on its front with a v-neck collar and blue sleeves. The back of the jersey is in solid red with white player numbering, names and sponsor logos.
Atlante FC will be looking for improved performances this season following 17th and 18th place Liga MX finishes during their last two campaigns.
