The Japan Football Association has unveiled the Japan adidas 2014 FIFA World Cup home kit. It will be worn by the Blue Samurai in their fifth consecutive World Cup campaign in Brazil next summer and will be available at KitbagWorld Soccer ShopSubside Sports and UK Soccer Shop.

The Japan 2014 World Cup home jersey is in the team’s traditional blue with a rounded neck design. It features peach colored sleeve cuffs along with a peach and white band across its back in a painted on effect.

According to adidas: The concept of this brand new official home uniform for the Japan National Football Team is “ENJIN (i.e., the act of ‘going into a huddle’)”: the uniform is an expression of the strong determination as the players and the supporters realise that now is the time to unite as one and go into a huddle (“ENJIN”) to get ready for the battle ahead, to go all in for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ and capture victory.

On the left side of the chest, there are 11 lines spreading out from the emblem, expressing the way those players depart from the “ENJIN” to their respective positions on the pitch for the battle.

The Japan 2014 kit is completed by blue shorts with peach accents and socks in blue, peach and white. A predominantly white goalkeeper kit was launched along with the outfield player uniform. Both will see match action for the first time on November 16 when Japan meets fellow 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers The Netherlands in an international friendly in Genk.

2011 AFC Asian Cup champions, Japan is currently ranked 44th in the world by FIFA. The men’s national team currently features the likes of Shinji Kagawa (Manchester United), Yūto Nagatomo (Inter Milan) and Keisuke Honda (CSKA Moscow).
