Santos Laguna PUMA 30th Anniversary Jersey

Four-time Liga MX and two-time CONCACAF champions Santos Laguna have released a limited edition 30th Anniversary jersey from technical sponsor PUMA.

In Santos Laguna’s traditional green and white, the new shirt is based on the home kit worn by the club during its first professional campaign – the 1983-84 Mexican season. Only 1,983 units of it will be produced.

Unlike Santos’ 2013/14 PUMA kits, the 30th Anniversary jersey features a modern interpretation of the  club’s 1983 badge in silver. A picture of the 1983-84 Santos team is printed on the upper inner back of the shirt along with the text  “Ganar sirviendo 30 años”.  The three vertical bands in green and white on each side of the shirt are meant to represent Santos’ three decades of soccer. Finally, the current Santos Laguna badge is embossed on the front of the jersey.

The Santos Laguna PUMA 30th Anniversary jersey was worn in match action during Friday’s 2-1 home win over Liga MX league leaders Club America. It is expected to be available at World Soccer Shop.
