Palmeiras adidas 99th Anniversary Jersey

Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras (usually called Palmeiras) have launched a special edition adidas 99th Anniversary jersey (available soon at Subside Sports).

The new 1999 Copa Libertadores and eight-time Brazilian champions kit is an altered version of their 2013 away kit that has been updated to include a golden anniversary badge in the shape of the team’s original crest featuring the text “quando surge o alviverde imponente – 99 anos”.

The date of the club’s 99th Anniversary (Auust 23, 2013) is recognized via “23 de agosto de 2013” embroidered under the new badge.

The Palmeiras 99th adidas home kit also features tonal horizontal stripes on its front and a print of the number 99 on its back in golden numerals. It will be worn in match action during Tuesday’s Copa do Brasil clash with Atlético Paranaense in Curitiba.

Now in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie B, following their relegation from Serie A at the end of the 2012 season, Palmeiras is currently atop Brazil’s second tier of football after seventeen matches played.
