Featuring the likes of Brazilian striker Hulk and former Arsenal man Andrei Arshavin, FC Zenit Saint Petersburg is now a perennial Russian Premier League title contender.
According to the Sine-Belo-Golubye (The Blue-White-Sky Blues) website: Zenit went back to its roots on July 11, returning to the place where the club`s history all started in 1925. The club presented its new Nike uniforms for the 2013/2014 season in one of the workshops of the Leningrad Metal Plant, where the club was born.
Zenit players Anatoliy Tymoshchuk, Axel Witsel, Roman Shirokov, Nicolas Lombaerts and Viktor Fayzulin mounted the stage in the team`s new uniforms in front of a low pressure rotor, designed for the Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant. The new jerseys also sported the club`s updated logo.
The new uniform is made in Zenit`s traditional white and sky blue colors. These colors reflect the freedom-loving character of Zenit players and fans. But another color has become typical of the team in recent years too — gold. This color is also present on the jerseys now.
